Lake County is bracing itself for what is expected to be a significant rainfall, triggering a flurry of preparatory measures as outlined by the county's Emergency Management team. In a recent update, the Emergency Operations Center is already buzzing, operating at a Level 3 activation, with a plan to escalate to Level 2 by tomorrow morning, according to information released by Lake County.
Despite the looming weather threat, there's a current hold on office closures and service suspensions, which offers some semblance of normalcy for residents. The County, not looking to be caught off guard, has proactively issued a local emergency declaration, in a bid to swiftly mobilize resources. Specifically, heavy rain is on the radar, and the local government is urging the community to take all necessary precautions to safeguard properties and loved ones, as per an announcement from the Lake County Emergency Management.
To ensure residents can easily access information and support, the County has to set up a Citizens Information Line (CIL), which swung open its lines of communication this afternoon and will remain operational daily. Concerned citizens are urged to utilize the CIL, reachable at 352-253-9999, for guidance, only turning to 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency that necessitates immediate aid.
