DiVino Set to Fire Up Wood-Fired Pizzas at Maitland Social Sept. 1

A new wood-fired pizza concept called DiVino is moving into the space Pizza Bruno just left behind at Maitland Social, with owners targeting a September 1 opening date pending final inspections. The restaurant will be run by Massimo Fallica and Adriana Arenas, the pair behind Winter Park's acclaimed Grappolo Cucina Italiana, who say they want to bring that restaurant's approach to quality and authenticity into a more casual, upscale setting.

The move was first reported by Orlando Weekly, which detailed the menu DiVino has planned for its debut at the 360 E. Horatio Ave. development. Neapolitan wood-fired pizza will anchor the menu, including a pizza genovese, a bufalina, and a salsiccia e friarielli pie, alongside starters like bruschetta, burrata, antipasto boards, arancini, crostini di polpo and polpette al ragù. For dessert, the restaurant plans to offer tiramisù, cannoli and pastiera napoletana, all prepared in-house daily alongside a curated selection of wine and beer.

Inheriting Pizza Bruno's Oven and Footprint

DiVino will use the same Fiero Forni oven already installed at Maitland Social, a commercial unit capable of reaching temperatures up to 1,000°F and recognized by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana for authentic Neapolitan pizza production, according to Fiero Forni. The manufacturer builds both wood-fired and high-heat electric deck ovens engineered in Italy, and its presence in the space gives DiVino a turnkey setup with minimal downtime before opening.

Pizza Bruno had operated in that spot for two years after opening its Maitland Social location in 2024, per the restaurant's own history. Owner Bruno Zacchini announced in mid-August that he was closing the Maitland outpost, framing it as a strategic decision to refocus resources on his flagship pizzerias, according to Orlando Shine. Those remaining locations include the original wood-fired Neapolitan pizzeria on Curry Ford Road, which opened in 2016, and a gas-deck, New Jersey-style pie concept in College Park that debuted on Edgewater Drive in October 2022, as tracked by Bungalower.

A Familiar Building With a New Tenant Mix

Maitland Social itself is a 7,400-square-foot adaptive-reuse project at 360 E. Horatio Ave., where Garber Development converted a former one-story BB&T bank building into a multi-tenant space with shared corridors and outdoor seating, FOX 35 Orlando has reported. The development celebrated its grand opening in August 2024 with an initial tenant lineup that included Wave Asian Bistro & Sushi, Foxtail Coffee Co. and Urban Body Works fitness center, according to the same station's coverage — tenants DiVino will now join as the food hall's pizza slot changes hands.

DiVino is a sister concept to Grappolo Cucina Italiana, which Fallica and Arenas opened at 526 S. Park Ave. in Winter Park in May 2025 as an extension of their UK restaurant, La Meridiana, in Surrey, England, per Orlando Weekly. The Grappolo name translates to “bunch,” as in a bunch of grapes, reflecting the ownership group's emphasis on wine pairings alongside scratch-made Italian cooking. Fallica moved from London to Central Florida after years running restaurants in the UK, the outlet notes.

Part of a Broader Maitland Dining Wave

DiVino's arrival lands amid a broader influx of upscale regional dining concepts opening around Maitland this year, including Naya Comida + Barrita near Lake Lily and Turci Osteria Italiana on South Orlando Avenue, according to Rayneshire Realty LLC. The firm notes that several local dining groups have expanded into Maitland nodes near Horatio and South Orlando avenues as the corridor's commercial footprint grows. That growth includes a 2.9-acre retail project on Trelago Way that Maitland's Development Review Committee unanimously approved in June, planned to anchor a 12,500-square-foot Trader Joe's roughly three miles from Winter Park's Lakeside plaza, per The Orlando Real.

Zacchini isn't stepping away from Central Florida's food scene even as he narrows his own restaurant footprint. He teamed up with Gideon's Bakehouse creator Steve Lewis this year on Six Ravens, a Disney Springs quick-service spot serving medieval-style savory “coffyn” hand pies in the former Art of Shaving space near Gideon's. For now, updates on DiVino's opening are being posted to the Instagram account @divinopizzawine, with owners aiming to bring, in their words, great pizza, great wine and a relaxed atmosphere to the Maitland community.
