The search for two persons of interest intensifies as the Lake County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into a recent kidnapping incident. Last week, a woman in her 30s experienced a harrowing attack that took place around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, behind her home in the Okahumpka area. According to ClickOrlando, the victim reportedly managed to escape her captors and was later found in a nearby rural location.

Providing further details of the assault, Cpl. Chanel Martin explained, as per WESH, "She felt something strike her from behind," which was followed by two men dragging her to a wooded area. Covered in blood with an injured leg, the woman recounted how she used a pocket knife to free herself from a rope that was being used to choke her. With the assailants scared off, deputies who arrived at the scene later found her holding the bloodied rope and unable to identify her attackers.

Composite sketches of the men believed to be involved in this incident have been released by the sheriff's office in hopes that the public can aid in their apprehension. The victim's fight for survival involved a pocket knife that allowed her to cut through her restraints.

Authorities call for the public's assistance and have offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Lake County residents and those with knowledge of the crime are urged to reach out. Tips can be shared by contacting Detective Z. Williams at 352-343-9500 or anonymously through Crimeline.
