The West Earl Township Police Department is in pursuit of a woman alleged to have committed theft and fraud by stealing another individual's purse from their vehicle and subsequently writing and cashing forged checks, as Local21News reported. Authorities claim the suspect has executed her scheme at various Ephrata National Bank branches within Lancaster County, with locations in Strasburg, Leola, and Akron having been exploited. The alleged theft resulted in a fraudulent haul of $2,750 at the Akron bank branch alone.
Further details reveal that the woman targeted is said to be between 30 and 40 years old, equipped with a tattoo on her left forearm. According to surveillance and police accounts, the vehicle driven by the suspect is described as a newer, white SUV, presumed to be a Hyundai Palisade. WDAC shared images of the suspect and is directing the public to view the photos on their website, asking anyone with information to come forward.
