A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of two Victorville residents, the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department reported. Donnie Griffin, 50, was apprehended in Las Vegas after detectives followed leads to a residence where he was staying; Griffin is accused of shooting and killing Cody McFann, 35, of Hesperia, and Melissa Quintero, 39, of Victorville, during a family dispute that turned deadly.
The incident occurred on the evening of July 28, 2024, when deputies were called to a disturbance in the 12400 block of San Jacinto Drive where they discovered the victims, the department detailed. The argument began as verbal but escalated as Griffin became physically violent, thereafter McFann and Quintero arrived and a further altercation ensued, culminating in Griffin arming himself with a firearm, chasing down and fatally shooting McFann and Quintero both were pronounced dead at the scene.
After the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division - Homicide Detail took over the investigation, they issued a warrant for Griffin's arrest. With the assistance of Las Vegas Metro Police and the U.S. Marshal’s Office, Griffin was taken into custody on July 31. He is currently booked in a Las Vegas jail and is awaiting extradition to California, as detailed in a report obtained by Nixle.
