Emergency response teams were called into action at the Renaissance Hotel on Paradise Road, near Las Vegas' bustling Strip, following reports of a fire on Thursday evening. The incident, as detailed by News 3 LV, occurred just before 8:00 p.m. and primarily affected the hotel's roof. Though visible flames were minimal, the situation called for the precautionary evacuation of the 14th and 15th floors, fire officials informed.
The Clark County Fire Department and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Fire Department were quick to the scene after the distress call at 7:49 p.m. Upon arrival, first responders found minor burning of materials on the roof, which they swiftly extinguished, said Clark County Fire Department. This prompt action averted further risk, while simultaneously, hotel personnel diligently worked with those evacuated, aiding in their return, as gleaned from News 3 LV.
Meanwhile, reporting from 8 News Now reveals that the fire caused concern among hotel guests and staff, leading to an orderly evacuation as a safety measure. The hotel's operations were briefly disrupted but resumed check-in procedures around 9:00 p.m. Guests returning to the hotel were met with delays, no doubt due to the backlog created by the earlier commotion. Although the fire was contained without reports of any injuries, the investigation into the cause, and potential financial impact remains ongoing. Clark County Fire Department has not yet released estimates on damage costs.
