Early this morning, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported a structure fire in Hyde Park, swiftly tackled by first responders. According to a notification released by the LAFD, the blaze erupted at approximately 09:47 AM at a single-story, family dwelling located at 2529 W Southwest Dr—a site familiar with flames, as it had been a victim of a fire before. Firefighters engaged in offensive combat against the conflagration that had fully engulfed the vacated residence and its detached garage.
Despite the structure being vacant, the fire posed a potential risk to neighboring properties and occupants. Swinging into action, firefighters from multiple stations, including Battalions 13 and 4, as well as Stations 66 and 33, among others, were dispatched to the scene. Operating in the offensive mode, they worked to curb the voracious appetite of the flames with unwavering determination. The incident, logged under INC#0574, was confined to the pre-singed house and its garage, not allowing it to spread to near structures.
Furthermore, the LAFD achieved a knockdown of the fire in a swift 10 minutes' time, as reported in a follow-up statement. The aggressive and strategic approach to firefighting prevented any injuries and contained the damage exclusively to the area of origin.
