Early yesterday morning, a man was shot and killed in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of Philadelphia, turning a quiet street into a crime scene. FOX 29 reports the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on the 2400 block of Stanley Street when the 32-year-old victim was shot inside a vehicle. In a desperate attempt to, perhaps, escape his assailant, he drove away only to crash into a building a block away.
Authorities were called to the scene where they found the man with multiple gunshot wounds. According to NBC10, he suffered two shots to the chest and one to the hip. Tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital, marking an abrupt end to a life not far from his own home.
The victim's identity has not yet been released, as homicide detectives delve deeper into the matter. 6ABC notes that as of now, no arrests have been made and the motive behind the shooting remains a mystery. As is standard in Philadelphia homicide cases, a $20,000 reward is offered for information that could lead to an arrest and conviction, as per FOX 29.
