Last night, an incident of aggravated assault disrupted the peace of a Pittsburgh neighborhood when a 32-year-old man was shot in the leg. The victim arrived at Shadyside Hospital's emergency room just after 9:35 p.m., seeking urgent medical attention for his injuries. According to the statement he gave, he was standing at a bus stop near Centre Ave. and S. Negley Ave, when the unexpected sound of gunshots pierced the night—followed closely by a sharp pain in his leg, as reported by the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.
The responding officers from the Pittsburgh Police have reported that Medic 11 transported the victim in stable condition, ensuring he received the necessary care at a trauma center. The official report from the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department provided no immediate indication of a crime scene, despite the detectives’ prompt visit to the area of the reported shooting, indicating a noticeable gap in the available evidence.
The case has been handed over to the Violent Crime Unit, whose detectives are tasked with delving deeper into the investigation.
