Police are on the hunt for two individuals linked to a broad daylight robbery in Southeast Washington, D.C., calling on the public to step forward with information. The brazen crime, reported to have occurred in the 3500 block of Wheeler Road, Southeast on Monday, saw the suspects threaten and assault a person just as they left a store.
According to a press release by the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place at roughly 11:56 a.m., where a duo approached the victim, used a knife to intimidate them, inflicted physical harm, snatched their belongings and subsequently fled the scene.
Community members with any leads are encouraged to contact the police by dialing (202) 727-9099 or by sending a text message to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. In a bid to incentivize witnesses or those with knowledge pertinent to the case, the MPD is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that can lead to the arrest and indictment of the individuals responsible for committing this crime within the District of Columbia.
