The Metropolitan Police Department is soliciting help from the public to ID two burglary suspects caught on surveillance footage. According to the official MPD news release, the incident occurred in the early morning hours of August 21 when the suspects broke into a business located on the 1000 block of F Street, Northwest.
Using a hammer, these individuals shattered the front glass door of the currently unnamed establishment at around 3:37 a.m. After gaining entry, they helped themselves to merchandise and promptly left the scene. The MPD has not released details on the type of merchandise stolen or the value of the property taken.
The police have turned to the community for assistance, urging anyone with information concerning the identity of these suspects to step forward. Informants are encouraged to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or to send a tip via text to the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Department is offering a reward—reward of up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest and indictment of the culprits involved in a crime within the District.
Authorities have reiterated that individuals who recognize the suspects should not approach them, instead making it a priority to contact the police. This strategy aims to prevent any potential risks to public safety and allows law enforcement to handle the situation professionally. Concerned citizens and potential informants are reminded that their tip could be the key in resolving the case and are potentially bringing justice to incidents like the burglary on F Street.
