The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, August 14, near the 700 block of Newton Place, where the suspects are reported to have confronted the victim. According to a press release distributed by the MPD and available on their website, one assailant brandished a firearm, while their accomplices proceeded to steal a moped and a cell phone from the victim.
In their appeal for community support, the MPD has provided a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Fortunately, the victim did not suffer any physical harm during the event. The suspect's actions, recorded by nearby surveillance, have spurred the MPD into action – they now seek to pinpoint the perpetrators and recover the stolen property.
