According to the City of Fort Worth, the new location at 9336 Clifford St., Suite 120, will welcome guests with a grand opening celebration featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, storytime for the kiddos, 3D printing demos, video game sessions, Olympic trivia, and a scavenger hunt designed to introduce visitors to the new space.
Expectations are high from City Council District 7's councilmember Macy Hill, who told the City of Fort Worth, "We are so excited that District 7 residents will have access to a Fort Worth Public Library so much closer to home," adding their anticipation that the location would quickly become a community hub. This sentiment reflects the anticipated convenience and connection a local library brings, especially in a district that hasn't seen a new public library since the city's redistricting.
Library Director Midori Clark emphasized efficiency in service delivery as a key driver for repurposing existing spaces for libraries, sharing with the City of Fort Worth, "While we would love to build a brand-new library in every place we need one in Fort Worth, that process can take years". With a children's area boasting a Fort Worth life mural by Becca Waugh and an offer of a Fort Worth coloring book for the first 300 visitors, the library bridges cultural enrichment with local flair.
The Clifford Crossing Branch Library aims to serve as a cultural and educational nexus, staying open late on weekdays and offering weekend hours for maximum accessibility, with closing times ranging from 6 to 8 p.m. and a robust 17,468-item collection spanning over its 5,110 square feet—residents will have a wealth of resources at their fingertips. Patrons can note that all Fort Worth library locations will be briefly taking a Labor Day pause, closing on Monday, Sept. 2, only to open again, ready to deepen the reservoirs of knowledge and entertainment for any who walk through their doors.
