Two beloved food joints are providing Cincinnati residents with more options for indulging in regional favorites. Sweets & Meats BBQ and Condado Tacos each opened new locations in the city. Sweets & Meats BBQ, a staple of Cincinnati's food truck scene, is gearing up for the grand opening of its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Avondale. According to Cincinnati Business Journals, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Herald Building across from the Ronald McDonald House.
The grand opening comes after a soft launch that started in late August, offering free fare to help acclimate the staff to their new kitchen atmosphere and preventing them from getting too overwhelmed, co-owner Kristen Bailey's strategic move aims to ease into full service with a team that's ready to deliver. Bailey told Cincinnati Business Journals that they are now charging for meals. However, they are still technically under modified hours until Sept. 11. The eatery will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays upon the official opening.
On the other hand, Columbus-based Condado Tacos is expanding its footprint with a fifth area location nestled in Sycamore Township. Making its home on the first floor of the new Residence Inn by Marriott, this fresh venue boasts a 4,100-square-foot space steps away from Kenwood Towne Centre. As reported by Local12 News, the new locale features plenty of dining options, with 217 seats spread throughout the indoor dining room, the bar, and a spacious outdoor patio covering 1,000 square feet.
The opening of these restaurants punctuates Cincinnati's growing landscape for food connoisseurs and casual diners alike, bringing smoked delights and taco treats to neighborhoods eager for diverse eating establishments. Whether in the mood for the slow-cooked savory flavors that Sweets & Meats is known for or the customizable, vibrant experience that is a hallmark of Condado Tacos, these expansions highlight the city's rich culinary scene, which continues to thrive and adapt in a buzzing metropolis where an appetite for both innovation and tradition folds into the community fabric.
