A tragic family altercation in Newark resulted in the death of a 75-year-old man and the hospitalization of his daughter, who now faces murder charges. The Licking County Sheriff's Office reported that they were called to the 200 block of Parana Drive just before 1:50 p.m. this last Saturday, finding Nick Neagos with multiple stab wounds on his front porch. Nick Neagos was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WBNS.
The Sheriff's deputies also found April Neagos, 47, the victim's daughter, with stab wounds, walking on Parana Drive shortly after the incident as reported by the Newark Advocate. April Neagos was transported to a hospital in Columbus. However, her condition has remained undisclosed since last Saturday afternoon. A preliminary assessment by the authorities suggested that she stabbed her father multiple times before turning the weapon on herself.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has taken up the case, with detectives working on the scene and anticipating the request of murder charges against April Neagos. As dual tragedies unfold, a daughter inflicted with wounds, by her own hand, perhaps, and a father meeting an end most unnatural, the community grapples with the perplexity of familial bonds turned violent.
While the investigation continues, many details remain guarded by law enforcement, withholding the full narrative from the public gaze. The sequence of events leading to such a grim outcome has yet to be sketched in full detail, and no further information has been released regarding the possible motives behind the incident. FOX28 notes that there is no word on April Neagos's condition following the incident.
