The Division of Building Safety in Orange County witnesses a rare event as not one, but three of its employees are hitting this milestone simultaneously. Alan C. Plante, Richard Johns, and Carolyn McFadden have dedicated a combined total of 120 years to this division, each embracing 40 years of public service, according to Orange County's newsroom.

"I am so fortunate to have been surrounded by talented individuals throughout my career, which have really helped me aspire," Plante shared in a statement obtained by Orange County's newsroom. This trio exemplifies a steadfast dedication to the betterment of Orange County, ensuring the security of both its residents and businesses. Plante began his service on April 9, 1984, as a residential Plans Examiner and has since climbed the ranks to Division Manager, becoming a foundational member of the division’s legacy.

In alignment with Plante's ethos, Richard Johns kicked off his career on May 14, 1984, and currently serves as a certified building inspector and plans reviewer. He has predominantly worked as an inspector, maintaining the integrity of local building codes and advocating for safety. "makes sure that the buildings are safe for the people to live in, and around the buildings," Johns told Orange County's newsroom, emphasizing the significance of the Florida Building Code.

Carolyn McFadden began her journey with the division on July 16, 1984, and has been a cornerstone in her role ever since. Not just a beacon in the Division of Building Safety, her investment in the community is evident through volunteer work with organizations such as the United Way and her extensive involvement with the Black History Committee for over two decades. "I know we are all working. We all must produce, get inspections and permits issued. So, I am proud of our department," McFadden stated in the Orange County interview.

As the celebration ensues, the community extends its thanks to Alan C. Plante, Richard Johns, and Carolyn McFadden for their unwavering commitment over the last 40 years.
