Travelers passing through Florida's airports may need to brace themselves for more than just the usual hustle and bustle of catching flights. In a recent study conducted by travel site UpgradedPoints, it was revealed that several airports in the Sunshine State have garnered high numbers of complaints regarding the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Orlando International Airport (MCO), already a hub of activity, ranked uncomfortably as the third most complained-about airport for TSA issues in the nation and the top in Florida, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.

With approximately 5.6 complaints per 100,000 passengers, MCO is in the company of other high-stress airports. The dubious honor of the highest number of TSA complaints went to Newark Liberty International Airport, living up to its bustling reputation with 6.83 complaints per the same metric. According to WFTV, Palm Beach International Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport are not far behind Orlando, with the former seeing about 5.78 and the latter fielding 5.5 complaints per 100,000 passengers, respectively.

Even though airports like MCO find themselves at the heart of the issue, the data, as collated by UpgradedPoints, also reflects a high correlation between the busiest holiday travel periods, particularly from October through December, and a surge in complaints.
