An Oxnard man has been taken into custody for allegedly operating an illicit substance delivery service, which authorities say involved the selling of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms to minors, as reported by a news release from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. The man, identified as 29-year-old Jesus Bedolla, was arrested on August 23, 2024, after a month-long investigation stemming from a juvenile's marijuana possession incident in July.
The case unfolded when a deputy from Camarillo Patrol Services responded to the initial incident involving a minor, leading to the identification of Bedolla as the source of the contraband. The Sheriff’s Office's press statement details the involved units, including the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit and the Camarillo Directed Enforcement Unit which worked jointly on this case. While the facts of the case are still being unveiled, the authorities believe they have found a significant link in the chain of illegal narcotics distribution targeting youth. A search warrant executed at Bedolla's residence yielded substantial quantities of drugs and evidence suggestive of narcotics sales, further complicating the defendant's legal predicament.
Specifically, the search led to the discovery of about 416.3 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms, over a kilogram of marijuana, hundreds of marijuana vape pens, and cash suspected to be related to drug sales. Bedolla now faces multiple charges, including possession and sale of controlled substances to minors, and is currently awaiting trial in Ventura County Main Jail.
