A Petaluma resident was nabbed by the police for graffiti on a public wall under Highway 101 last Saturday. The Petaluma Police Department officers were on enhanced patrol duty when they came upon Jon Curran, 27, spray painting the wall along Lynch Creek Trail around 6:05 pm.

According to the Petaluma Police Department, officers observed the vandal and immediately identified the resident. While painting the wall, Curran also possessed a small arsenal of spray paint cans, totaling nine. These were seized during the arrest.

The police department confirmed that Curran faced charges for defacing public property under section 594(a)(1) of the Penal Code. The lawbreaker was cited and released on the scene, a standard procedure for such offenses.
