The National Weather Service in Philadelphia has provided an update on the local weather conditions, detailing a forecast that should bring mostly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures throughout the week. As of early this morning, conditions were mostly cloudy with a temperature sitting at a mild 66°F and a relative humidity of 81%. Visibility stood clear at 10 miles. A west wind between 5 and 15 mph is expected to accompany today’s high of 83°F.
The NWS anticipates tonight to be mostly clear with a low dropping only to around 64°F. A consistent northwest wind near 5 mph will gently grace the city. This pattern is set to continue, as Tuesday is also forecasted to be mostly sunny, with a high near 82 and similar wind conditions. Tempering the heat, the NWS indicates that the remainder of the week is slated to be sunny with highs gradually climbing to the mid-80s. Detailed forecasts for the upcoming days show little deviation from this pattern, with Wednesday and Thursday maintaining sunny skies and daytime highs of 86 and 87 degrees respectively. Evening temperatures are expected to hover comfortably in the mid-60s.
The latter part of the week may introduce some variety to the forecast with Friday being mostly sunny and maintaining a high around 86, but the evening could bring partly cloudy skies with a low near 68. Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday may finally see a shift in pattern, presenting a chance of showers and thunderstorms with partly sunny conditions and a high near 82. The chance of precipitation sits at 40%. Going into the night, the percentage drops slightly to 30%, suggesting that while there's possibility for wet weather, it may not dominate the weekend.
As Sunday rolls around, the NWS maintains that there will be a continued risk for showers and thunderstorms. Conditions on that day will likely be partly sunny with a high again approaching 83 degrees and retaining a 30% chance of precipitation.
