Philadelphia police are actively searching for a suspect who violently robbed and assaulted a local gas station employee, fleeing with over $8,000. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of August 10 at the Liberty Gas Station located on the 5300 block of Rising Sun Avenue, has sparked a manhunt detailed in several recent reports.

According to FOX 29, the assailant reportedly attacked the employee shortly after the latter left his office to repair a gaming machine that was situated in the station's premises. Surveillance footage released on Tuesday shows the suspect engaging with a gaming machine before the assault. The video later captures him behind the store's counter where the robbery took place.

In a further bid to capture the suspect, the Philadelphia Police Department released more surveillance videos to the public. These were spotlighted by KYW Newsradio, showing the suspect initially at ease playing the gaming machine and ultimately carrying out the assault and robbery once he followed the employee into the office.

Details obtained by 6ABC added to the narrative, confirming that the suspect made off with approximately $8,500 in cash. The employee victimized by the robbery reported to police that he was followed into his secure office by the suspect who then proceeded to assault him and take the money. The suspect then fled the store and has remained at large.
