A Pierce County woman has been taken into custody on charges of sexual exploitation involving children, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced. Brandy Gill, 41, from Patterson, Pierce County, faces four counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children and two counts of Child Molestation.
The investigation that led to Gill's arrest was initiated after the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). This was concerning Gill's online activities, potentially related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. A search warrant was executed at her home by the GBI CEACC Unit with the aid of the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, and after the search, Gill was arrested and booked into the Pierce County Jail.
As the GBI press release indicates, these charges are part of a broader initiative by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force to combat the relentless trade of child sexual abuse material. The ICAC Task Force operates under the CEACC Unit. Their mission has become increasingly critical due to the surge in online activities by predators seeking unsupervised contact with minors.
The GBI is urging anyone with information about child exploitation cases to come forward. Tips can be submitted directly to the GBI Child Exploitation Unit, through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's CyberTipline, online via the GBI website, or through the See Something, Send Something app.
