The City of Pittsburgh is currently showcasing its culinary scene through its biannual celebration known as Restaurant Week. Running from August 12-18, food enthusiasts can indulge in diverse dining experiences at discounted rates throughout the city. According to WPXI, patrons are encouraged to make reservations, and mention Restaurant Week to ensure correct menu pricing and gratuities are appreciated given the increased efforts from the staff.
More than 50 establishments are participating, offering an array of special deals and dishes specifically created for this event. Perfect weather conditions are expected to complement the week's activities, providing an ideal environment for guests to enjoy outdoor dining spaces, especially spots like Over Eden on 40th Street in Lawrenceville. "This is going to be a very nice week. The weather is looking good," Hannah Judkins of Century Hospitality, which runs the restaurant and bar at the TRYP hotel stated, as reported by CBS News Pittsburgh.
Restaurant Week not only serves as a period to showcase the versatility of chefs and their cuisines but also as an opportunity to attract patrons who might otherwise not visit these eateries. "We love to, kind of, you know, show off a little bit and show people that we can do more than just, you know, what we have on our menu," Sous Chef Chuck Lash stated in a statement cited by CBS News Pittsburgh.
Upon arrival, diners should remember to mention they are there for Restaurant Week to be properly accommodated with the correct menus and pricing. Considering the extra labor involved in creating a memorable dining experience during this hectic period, patrons are encouraged to tip generously when possible.
