Several popular recreational spots in the city are shut down indefinitely due to an unfortunate sewage incident. Lynn Creek Park, Loyd Park, and Britton Park have been closed to the public, following the announcement of a sewer break by the Trinity River Authority yesterday. This environmental mishap has also led to the temporary shutdown of all city boat ramps for safety reasons.
Campers at Loyd Park caught amidst this unfolding scenario, have been urgently advised to avoid any contact with the water. As reported by the City of Grand Prairie, the closures will stand until repairs are completed and subsequent water quality tests confirm the safety of the waters for public use.
Furthermore, the accessibility to Lynn Creek Marina and its boat ramp remains restricted. The public is cautioned to "Please avoid the water in the affected area until further notice", as per the guidance provided by the Trinity River Authority, cited by the City of Grand Prairie.
Restoration efforts, however, are underway. The Trinity River Authority has ceased the spilling of sewage and is currently engaging in rectification measures.
