Residents in parts of Clearwater are seeing their reclaimed water service, which was cut off since last week, restored. The City of Clearwater reported on its official website that service has been partially restored in downtown Clearwater, Island Estates, and Clearwater Beach as of yesterday.

This restoration of service comes courtesy of the Marshall Street Water Reclamation Facility regaining functionality, bringing reclaimed water back to these neighborhoods. However, the service may not be stable just yet; caution is advised during initial use. Residents in the north, central, and east portions of Clearwater will have to wait a bit longer; their reclaimed water supply, which is dependent on the Northeast Water Reclamation Facility, is expected to be up and running by the morning today, the city hopes.

Clearwater Public Utilities teams have been diligently working to bring the service back online after its suspension earlier this month. The inconvenience caused by the lack of access to reclaimed water has been felt community-wide, prompting an apology from the city to its residents.

For those still waiting, the city says restoration is ongoing and crews are making progress. While it may take time, they aim to provide a reliable supply.
