A shooting incident marred the routine peace of a Rock Hill grocery store last week, where a disagreement between two men turned violent, leading to one man being shot. The event unfolded at Adam’s Grocery on South Wilson Street, according to Rock Hill Police Department who were called to the scene just after the noon hour on Thursday.

The authorities were alerted to the altercation by a caller who reported that two men were in a fight when one of the individuals pulled a trigger and wounded the other before making an escape on foot, as detailed by local news coverage from WBTV. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 46-year-old man with a serious gunshot wound to his abdomen, the victim was then able to name his assailant to the authorities before he was rushed to the hospital for much-needed medical attention.

Following the victim's identification, law enforcement acted swiftly to apprehend the suspected shooter, identified as 24-year-old Zamarri Dequan Carter, from the locale. The Rock Hill Police Department's Bloodhound Tracking Team was able to track Carter down to Carolina Avenue Extension, leading to his arrest without further incident, as was reported by QC News. Carter now faces serious charges including Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, Possession of a Weapon During a Crime of Violence, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Certain Crimes.
