San Antonio residents are gearing up for a stretch of classic Texan summer heat as the forcast predicts temperatures to rise to around the 100-degree mark in the coming days. According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will see a high near 103°F, with the mercury climbing even higher to 104°F by Tuesday.
Today's conditions feature a high near 100°F, with the heat index expected to make it feel as hot as 105°F. The South wind, aiding little to abate the swelter, comes at 5 to 10 mph. The nights offer little relief, with lows persistently hovering around the 79-degree mark, while the South southeast wind is predicted to occasionally gust up to 20 mph.
The upcoming weekend and early next week show continued sunny skies with no reprieve from the heat. Heat index values are once again to rise high, peaking near 107°F on Friday, a forewarning for those planning their outdoor weekend activities in the San Antonio region. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit their time exposed to the intense sun.
With scorching temperatures continuing through the start of the next workweek, the forecast promises a high near 103°F on Monday and slightly higher on Tuesday. Evening temperatures are also set to marginally increase, with lows around 80°F and 81°F Monday and Tuesday nights respectively. The weather conditions call for a steady pattern of searing heat, with calm winds in the morning becoming southeast around 5 mph during the afternoons.
