Chino Hills residents were met with an unexpected disturbance in the otherwise peaceful suburb, as law enforcement swiftly addressed a burglary in progress last Thursday. According to the official report released by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, deputies from the Chino Hills Police Station descended on the scene after receiving reports of a residential burglary.
The incident, recorded under case number 222402330, occurred around 11:28 a.m. on the 5800 block of Thistleberry Court where Brandon Smith Roberto Roldan, an 18-year-old San Bernardino resident, was observed by deputies jumping a wall into a private residence. Following the established protocol, the deputies established a perimeter, and with the assistance of Sheriff's Aviation and a K-9 unit from Rancho Cucamonga Station, started the search for the intruders. The timely response resulted in Roldan's capture, found by the canine unit hiding in the backyard of a neighboring house.
Roldan was later arrested on charges of attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools. The other suspect involved in the incident managed to evade arrest at the time and currently remains at large.
