
San Francisco man Cory Bingham, age 36, has been arrested for allegedly snatching a bounty of goods totaling approximately $648.48. Last Tuesday, Colma Police Officers, already investigating a previous theft, were tipped off to a second misdemeanor at a business in the commercial stretch of Junipero Serra Boulevard. A statement posted by the Colma Police Department detailed the arrest that ensued shortly after.
The officers quickly located and detained Bingham, who was strolling through the Serra Center parking lot, reportedly just having exited the business of interest. Identified by the store's loss prevention officer as the individual responsible for the theft, Colma's finest conducted a records check, only to unveil a $5,000 misdemeanor warrant already hanging over Bingham's head from a neighboring agency. Further investigation revealed that he was surreptitiously carrying a magnet to defeat security sensors.
Upon his detention, Bingham was cited for petty theft, possession of burglary tools, and his outstanding warrant. His promise to appear in court on a given date was enough to secure his temporary release from custody.
