Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office acted swiftly when called upon to Taylor Blvd. and Ashton Ave. in the City of Millbrae. The series of events, which took place close to a local middle school, culminated in the apprehension of a suspect now linked to a collection of offenses, including the possession of an unregistered firearm, commonly described as a ghost gun. The incident occurred yesterday, prompting a rapid law enforcement response. Deputies canvassed the area and caught up with the suspect shortly after the reported incidents.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, the deputies spotted the vehicle involved in the hit-and-runs at Taylor Blvd. and Poplar Ave. and stopped 23-year-old Darius A. Lewis of Victorville. Signs of impairment were evident, and during his arrest, deputies uncovered the ghost gun along with an extended magazine in Lewis's possession.

Lewis was charged with a litany of offenses, including driving under the influence and hit-and-run driving. Added to this were charges for carrying a concealed, loaded weapon and possessing a large-capacity magazine. Lewis, transported to the Maguire Correctional Facility, also managed to damage the patrol vehicle that he was in, increasing the charges against him.
