
San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies made headlines on Tuesday evening when a routine traffic stop in Moss Beach led to the recovery of multiple illegal firearms. One of which was a loaded semi-automatic gun accompanied by extra ammunition, and another was an unloaded ghost gun, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. This incident resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Steven V. Turdici from Pacifica, who was subsequently booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on a handful of serious charges.
The specific infractions noted by the deputies included carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm in public in certain circumstances, and possession of a firearm without a serial number, all serious charges.
Legal statutes cited in this latest arrest include two counts of 25400(a)(3) PC, which relates to the concealed carriage of weapons in a vehicle by an occupant, and 25850(a) PC for carrying a loaded firearm under specific public circumstances, 29810(c) PC also came into play which speaks to the possession of an unserialized firearm, informally known as a ghost gun.
