Gaw, who is trilingual, steps into the position with an impressive résumé showcasing her Master’s in Mid-Management, Teacher Certification from Houston Baptist University, and a Bachelor's in Spanish and Psychology from the University of Houston. Among her accolades, she was named Houston Independent School District Principal of the Year, for 2014-2015 and HISD North Area Bilingual Teacher of the Year in 1998. This diverse background in education and leadership will undoubtedly shape her approach to directing the library system.
