A comprehensive initiative, "Garland Forward," is on the horizon, focusing on the community's growth and development, and the city wants to hear from you. As reported in the City of Garland, the first comprehensive plan since 2012 is in the works, and public input is a critical piece of the puzzle.
You can weigh in on what's important to you by taking an online survey or by marking your calendar for a series of "pop-ups" on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The early birds can start at Starbucks on Lavon Drive or La Mejor Panaderia, with appearances beginning from 10 to 11 a.m. For those who thrive later in the day, additional gatherings are slated for the Downtown Square and Starbucks on Broadway Blvd from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Be a part of the conversation and ensure that your perspective helps shape the collective future of Garland.
For a more immersive experience, show up to the Community Kickoff Event on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at The Atrium at the Granville Arts Center. From 6 to 8 p.m., engage with the issues at hand through presentations and activities designed to gather your feedback on Garland's trajectory. The plan addresses crucial areas, including economic development, infrastructure, neighborhood vitality, and urban design.
