In a targeted crackdown on gang and gun violence in Sacramento County, six individuals were arrested by Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT) Deputies and Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) Detectives. The operation resulted in the seizure of six illegally possessed firearms. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to deter criminal activities associated with gangs in the region.
The arrests appear to be significant, with one of them including a high-ranking member of the East Side Piru gang. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, he had a history of illegal gun arrests and was found with an "unmarked and unserialized AR15-style pistol loaded with a 50-round magazine." Carrying numerous firearms, six individuals were taken into custody during the course of the operation.
Efforts by law enforcement were not limited to arrests and confiscations. With a priority on preventing violent confrontations, detectives also zeroed in on individuals who exhibited dangerous behavior. Another arrest that stood out was that of a Norteno gang member, who was involved in a physical altercation and reportedly "brandished a loaded firearm at another person," as stated in a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office report.
