The streets of Northwest D.C. were disrupted by an unsettling incident on Monday morning when an assailant attacked two individuals at a bustling intersection. Metropolitan Police Department responded to 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue around 9 a.m. after reports of an assault were made. When authorities arrived, they found two people who had been attacked by a third individual, one reportedly assaulted with a rock.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, both victims received on-scene treatment from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
Following the incident, MPD officers immediately scoured the neighborhood to locate the suspect, achieving swift success in apprehension. The person alleged to be behind these violent acts is 46-year-old John Kennedy, who is of no fixed address, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
His actions on that Monday morning led to charges including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Rock) and Simple Assault, as per the Metropolitan Police Department.
