In the predawn hours of Saturday, a collision on I-94 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, involved a police car and resulted in injuries to both the officer and the driver responsible, who is suspected of drunk driving. According to Audacy's WWJ Newsradio, the incident was reported around 1:20 a.m.
The Michigan State Police (MSP) informed that the St. Clair Shores patrol car was parked on the right shoulder, attending to a call about a stolen vehicle in the vicinity when the accident occurred. A westbound Buick Envision veered off the roadway and struck the patrol car at the rear. Consequently, the police vehicle was propelled into the right and center lanes, and the Buick ended up on a grass embankment, as stated in a dispatch from MSP Second District on X.
