The Call Center will begin operations at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 3, providing a resource for individuals to make inquiries and receive information about the looming weather conditions that could impact the area, the city will keep the lines open until 7:00 P.M., before resuming activities again the following day at 9:00 A.M.; they are scheduled to continue offering assistance till 7:00 P.M.
City officials are encouraging residents to sign up for Alert Tampa, a notification service that delivers instant alerts to mobile devices which could be crucial during times of unpredictable weather changes. Interested parties can easily subscribe by texting TAMPAREADY to 888-777 for messages in English or TAMPALISTA for Spanish alerts, as shared in the city's directive.
Moreover, residents who prefer to stay updated through social media can follow the City of Tampa on their X account @AlertTampa and City's official Facebook page @CityofTampa, these platforms are to provide continuous updates as the weather situation evolves though residents should keep their phones charged and close during the storm for direct alerts that could contain essential advice and information relevant to their immediate safety.
