
Early Sunday morning, a 17-year-old girl sustained a gunshot wound to the forearm at a party in Grand Rapids' west side, authorities reported. The incident occurred near Leonard Street NW and Quarry Avenue NW. According to a statement obtained by WZZM13, she was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) said that the shots fired did not appear to target the teen and that she likely caught an errant bullet. In the chaos, no other injuries have been reported.
