
Over the weekend, a severe multi-vehicle collision on the 405 Freeway near Mulholland Drive significantly disrupted southbound traffic. The incident, which occurred at 9:30 p.m., involved four cars and resulted in the hospitalization of three individuals. As reported by ABC7, several lanes were closed, and traffic was backed up for miles due to the crash.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical assistance to the victims. A man and a woman were taken to the hospital by paramedic ambulance, another woman was transported with non-life threatening injuries, and in poignant detail, a young boy involved in the crash was evaluated on the scene but did not require hospitalization. This update was provided by a news release from the LAFD, and further details were shared in an alert posted on the department's official website. The cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
Meanwhile, CBS Los Angeles reported that two SUVs were identified among the vehicles involved in the crash. SkyCal aerial footage captured a lengthy queue of vehicles delayed by the accident as investigators from the California Highway Patrol worked at the scene, shutting down all but one southbound lane.
