Victorville witnessed a three-vehicle collision on the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Mesa View Drive, which sent three individuals to the hospital on Thursday evening. According to a report from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the incident occurred on August 1, 2024, at approximately 5:11 PM. Richard Reyes-Escobar, a 22-year-old resident of Adelanto, and Javier Flores, a 28-year-old resident of Hesperia, along with an SBCSD Deputy Sheriff, were identified as the victims in the crash.
Local authorities from the Victorville Station, alongside rescue personnel, quickly responded to the scene. A burgundy Scion XA, a black Dodge Durango, and a Sheriff's Department vehicle were found to have been involved in the crash. All occupants suffered minor injuries and were promptly transported to receive medical care. It has been revealed that the Sheriff's vehicle was in the process of pursuing another vehicle when the collision happened. To fully assess the incident, the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene and took over the investigation.
Following the crash, Bear Valley Road was closed between Mesa View Drive and Monte Vista Road, with closures persisting for several hours. This caused significant delays for drivers in the area as investigators examined the site and gathered information.
