
A tragic event unfolded in Jefferson Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, when a house explosion claimed the life of a 75-year-old woman, Diane Gruss, and left another man critically injured; the explosion occurred on Mount Cobb Road just east of Scranton, as reported by 6abc.
Local authorities including the Pennsylvania State Police were on site, and the local fire department received aid from neighboring communities to address the crisis, with Assistant Chief Jason Crambo of the Jefferson Township Fire Company stating, “We had people, companies as far as Gouldsboro, Chinchilla, Archbald was here so when there’s a fire and we need help you call it from your surrounding communities,” according to a statement obtained by PAhomepage.
