Following a meticulous investigation into a homicide that occurred on Regatta Drive, Sarasota detectives have made two arrests. The Sarasota Sheriff's Office reported the apprehension of Damontae Montrell Tillery, 24, and Karriem Jermaine McDowell Jr., 23, in connection with the murder of Edward James Dukes Jr., 47.
Deputies first arrived at the scene on July 25, having been called to address an unconscious person report. They found Dukes deceased, bearing multiple gunshot wounds. After utilizing various investigative techniques, detectives could identify Tillery and McDowell as suspects, who were arrested in Sarasota on the late evening of August 2 without incident.
Both suspects are currently held at the Sarasota County Correctional Facility, where they face murder charges. In the ongoing investigation, details are sparse, but the sheriff's office has communicated its dedication to uncovering the complete narrative of this tragic event.
