The breakthrough came on Wednesday when the United States Park Police spotted and stopped the vehicle. The Sixth District Detectives Unit was to respond and continue with the investigation swiftly.

As per a release by the Metropolitan Police Department, the efforts of detectives led to charges against 25-year-old Gregory Howard Grooms of Northeast and 25-year-old Debon Antonio Thomas of Southeast. Both men now face charges of Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.
