The Metropolitan Police Department recently reported the arrests of two individuals in connection to a violent incident in Northeast D.C. Last Wednesday morning, a man was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint in the 4600 block of Burroughs Avenue, Northeast. According to the victim, two men demanded his property after initiating the assault. He complied and managed to escape the area quickly.
The suspects allegedly used a black Nissan Versa sporting D.C. plates, which became a key element in the subsequent law enforcement search. The breakthrough came on Wednesday when the United States Park Police spotted and stopped the vehicle. The Sixth District Detectives Unit was to respond and continue with the investigation swiftly.
As per a release by the Metropolitan Police Department, the efforts of detectives led to charges against 25-year-old Gregory Howard Grooms of Northeast and 25-year-old Debon Antonio Thomas of Southeast. Both men now face charges of Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.
