Volaris is spreading its wings with a new nonstop service that links San Antonio and Monterrey, adding a daily dash across the border that starts bright and early in November. "We’re so happy to see Volaris expand at SAT and offer this option for our travelers," Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports for the City of San Antonio Aviation Department, said in a statement obtained by the San Antonio government's news release. The route will strengthen the already significant cultural, educational, and business connections between the two cities.
Beginning on November 3, passengers will be able to fly out of San Antonio International Airport (SAT) at 10:25 a.m. and land in Monterrey International Airport (MTY) at 11:35 a.m. The return journey departs MTY at 8 a.m., arriving in SAT at 9:10 a.m. This option complements existing services, as Viva Aerobus already shuttles travelers to MTY from SAT up to three times a day.
Omar Carrera, Volaris´ Senior Commercial Director, highlighted the airline's commitment to connecting people and places. "We can proudly say that with this new route, the Mexican city of Monterrey, and San Antonio, Texas, will be closer, with a more accessible and efficient air trip option through one of the most modern fleets in the region," Carrera disclosed in a statement on the city's website. Volaris prides itself on a fleet designed for comfort and efficiency, a factor that likely sweetens the deal for would-be passengers.
Since first taking to the skies from SAT in December 2013, Volaris has added multiple destinations to its roster, with Monterrey becoming the third nonstop destination alongside Guadalajara and Mexico City. The airline is positioning itself as an ultra-low-cost pathfinder for travelers, facilitating journeys across the border in a manner that promises to be both swift and economical. To secure a seat on the one of these flights, curious jet-setters can navigate to the Volaris website detailed in the official announcement.
