In a bizarre turn of events, a 59-year-old Westminster man, identified as George W. Cook, was arrested for setting fire to a local Domino’s Pizza establishment using bags of feces. As reported by Fox Baltimore, Cook carried out the act early on Saturday morning in the 400 block of Baltimore Boulevard. The fire subsequently drew a response from the Westminster Fire Department, alongside nearby stations to contain it.
The incident became known to the authorities after a witness observed Cook breaking into vehicles at Superior Car Care on Manchester Avenue. This witness brought Cook's earlier activities to the attention of the investigators as they were piecing together the events leading up to the inferno at Domino's. According to WMAR-2 News, firefighters arrived at the scene around 6:30 a.m. and quickly managed to contain the fire.
Furthermore, a manager at Domino’s recounted an earlier episode involving Cook to the Deputy State Fire Marshals. The employee detailed an incident earlier in the week in which Cook "became belligerent and kicked over a trash can after he was told to leave because they refused to give him free food", as detailed by Fox Baltimore.
The charges against Cook are severe, including second-degree arson, first- and second-degree malicious burning, and malicious destruction of property over $1,000. He also faces additional charges of rogue & vagabond and theft under $100. As per the latest updates, Cook is being held without bond at Carroll County Detention Center.
