A recent altercation at a Wilmington shopping center has led to the arrest of a 19-year-old woman, identified as Jazzlyn Johnson, according to Delaware State Police. The incident, categorized as a strong-arm robbery, took place on the morning of September 2, at Canby Park Shopping Center located on Maryland Avenue. Delaware State Police reports indicate that two individuals were attacked by Johnson and an unidentified second suspect.
At approximately 9:23 a.m. on the date of the incident, the victims were confronted and then physically assaulted before their property was taken. Following the robbery, the suspects reportedly fled the scene in a southern direction. The victims, though left with minor injuries, were victims of seemingly unprovoked violence. Through an investigation, authorities identified Johnson and apprehended her with the help of Delaware Probation and Parole on September 3.
Johnson faces multiple felony charges, including two counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, and Conspiracy 2nd Degree, as detailed in the official police statement. Following her arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 11, Johnson was committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $14,000 cash bond. Meanwhile, detectives are still working to identify and locate the second suspect. Described as a black male donned in dark-colored clothing and a mask, his whereabouts remain uncertain.
