A 64-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly shooting on Martin Luther King Boulevard, Houston police announced. The suspect, identified as Regell Aron Tillis, faces murder charges after a man was found fatally shot late Monday evening at an apartment complex.

According to a news release from the Houston Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 11:50 p.m. and discovered the 52-year-old victim with gunshot wounds. The identity of the victim is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The incident took place in an apartment located at the 12000 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

HPD Homicide Division's Sergeant C. LaFour and Detective J. Diaz are on the case. Through their investigation, they learned that Tillis was in a neighboring apartment complex. Detectives were able to detain him inside an apartment and following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed and Tillis was arrested and booked into the Harris County jail, as detailed by City of Houston News.
