The gunshot resulted in the owner being shot in the hand, leading to her hospitalization. Amid the ensuing panic, another shopper sustained an ankle injury, and a third person fainted, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office. The two other individuals were treated on the scene, “fainted during the chaos,” as detailed in a statement by WOODTV.
While the identity of the wounded has not been released, law enforcement confirmed that the woman with the gun was a legal owner. The circumstances leading up to the gun's discharge remain under investigation, with deputies emphasizing that the event appears to be an accident.
