A 12-year-old girl from Buckeye, Arizona has been detained in connection with a school threat investigation that spans to a Milwaukee area educational institution. According to FOX6 News, the Milwaukee Police Department traced an IP address linked to a threat back to a home in Arizona, prompting local Buckeye police to intervene on Sept. 22.
The Buckeye Police Department then interviewed the girl and collected what they have described as evidence, leading to her subsequent arrest on multiple felony charges, including the making of a terroristic threat, as noted in a report obtained by WISN 12 News. It was clarified that the arrest did not pertain to any threat directed at schools within the Buckeye city limits but instead was connected to an undisclosed Milwaukee area school.
As of now, details regarding which Milwaukee school was targeted by the threats have not been disclosed. News outlets seeking more information from the Milwaukee Police Department and Milwaukee Public Schools have not received a response. The specifics of the threats and the motives behind the 12-year-old's actions remain largely unclear. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Local authorities stressed in a statement to FOX6 News that "no threats were made against Buckeye schools and there was no threat to their city."
