According to the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan office, Sunday’s precipitation chance is 40%, with new rainfall generally staying below a tenth of an inch. A storm could still deliver a brief heavy downpour, gusty winds or small hail, although forecasters say widespread severe weather is unlikely. The update is a more active follow-up to Saturday’s Milwaukee forecast, which had emphasized the rain threat earlier in the weekend.
Heat Builds Into Early September
Sunday night stays mostly cloudy and muggy, with a low around 74 and a 30% chance of showers or thunderstorms. Monday, August 31, climbs to 89 degrees with a few morning storms before partial sunshine, while Tuesday, September 1, reaches about 88 with another 30% storm chance.
Relief Arrives Later In The Week
Wednesday, September 2, remains warm near 88 with scattered storms possible, but temperatures ease to about 81 Thursday and 79 Friday. Saturday, September 5, also tops out near 79, with shower and thunderstorm chances still in the mix before a partly cloudy Saturday night.
Lake Michigan Winds Need Attention
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Sunday for nearshore waters from North Point Light south to the Wisconsin-Illinois border. Southerly gusts should generally run 17 to 23 mph, with gusts near 29 mph possible from Milwaukee southward, and stronger storms could bring sudden wind or hail early next week. Boaters should check the latest conditions before heading out and leave the water if thunder develops.
